Hyundai says that this shows the direction for the next Genesis Coupe

*Update* Now that the Seoul Motor Show has begun, Hyundai has revealed more details about the HND-9 concept.

Hyundai admits that it shows the future design direction for the next generation Genesis Coupe. It has a very clean look with a large grill and angular rear. It has a long hood and short tail with a 2.86m long wheelbase and 4.695m overall length. It has butterfly doors that will never make it to a production version and rides on 22in wheels. The trim is made from carbon fiber.

The interior is quite different from the relatively simple exterior. It has a driver-oriented, cockpit-like layout with two arcs of polished aluminum. The seats are made from mesh fabric that shifts colors when viewed from different angles.

You can view all of the images of the car in the gallery above.

*Update Ends*

The HND-9 is a luxury sports coupe concept powered by a 3.3-liter turbocharged engine with 365hp with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.  It borrows slightly from a few other cars in its design. The HND-9 gets its name from being the ninth concept created by Hyundai’s R&D Center in Namyang, Korea. It created the car to be a modern interpretation of a sports GT car.

Hyundai is promising that more details about the car will be revealed at the Seoul Motor Show.
