luxury brand has revealed a new car outside of North America. While the SUV-X is being aimed at the Chinese market, Honda is considering a production version for global sale.

The concept has the skinny A-pillar and thick C-pillar look that is becoming prevalent on crossovers and small SUVs. The look provides a large area of glass to provide outward visibility and bring sunlight into the car. It also has exaggerated wheel arches with creases that extend past the arches. There are also multiple lines and creases throughout the bodywork that put emphasis on the rear. 

"We are planning to produce the mass-production model of the Acura Concept SUV-X locally in China, with the hope that our Chinese customers will more closely feel the values offered from Acura," said Honda President Takanobu Ito. 

Like many of the concepts revealed in Shanghai, Acura did not discuss a powertrain for the concept. 

Honda plans to have the production SUV-X ready in three years. It has been selling the Acura brand in China since 2006.
