Aston Martin has revealed the first official images of its city car concept: the Cygnet. The brand had already announced in June the concept that is based on Toyota’s iQ and that is a mixture of the Japanese vehicle with the design and luxury standards of Aston Martin.
The new luxury commuter concept car is according to Aston Martin a combination of highly fuel efficiency “with the prestige of Aston Martin’s luxury brand ownership”
Aston Martin is collaborating on this concept with Toyota and is willing to start the production some time in 2010. The first cars will only be available to Aston Martin customers in the UK and Europe.
With Cygnet, Aston Martin will be entering the world of low emission city cars. The brand is aiming at a production of about 2000 units of the compact city car.
