just submitted the updates for the 2015 models of the VanquishVanquishAston Martin VanquishUnited Kingdom, 2015 > present and Rapide SRapide SAston Martin Rapide SUnited Kingdom, 2015 > present. The updates include an improvement in the models of engine management systems, the introduction of the new eight-speed automatic transmission Touchtronic III and also improvements in performance and reduced emissions.

By reducing the exhaust gas back pressure, among other refinements, Aston Martin managed to slightly increase the power output of both the Vanquish and Rapide S. In the case of Vanquish 3hp were increased to a total of 576hp, while in the Rapide S increase was only 2hp to 560hp. Torque also increased by 10Nm in both models to 630Nm at 5500rpm.

With the introduction of the new Touchtronic III from ZF the new Vanquish and Rapide S saw their performance improve. In the case of the Vanquish, the GT model will be able to reach 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. In the Rapide S case acceleration time was reduced to 4.4 seconds.

Despite the improved performance, Aston Martin also managed to reduce CO2 emissions on both models. The Vanquish has projected emissions of 298g/km, while the Rapide S has 300g/km. Aston Martin also states that fuel consumption efficiency may reach 7.59 l/100km, but didn't indicate values for any of the models. These improvements are possible thanks to the new lighter transmission and also the use of Adaptive Drive Recognition (ADR) technology and the improvements made to the engine software.

Both models retain their current design, but received some styling changes. The new Vanquish S and Rapide receive new ten-spoke alloy wheels and new exterior colors. Inside the cars get new color options for the leather upholstery.

The 2015 versions of these two models will reach the market on the third quarter of 2014.
