Aventador sold out for more than 12 months

The orders for the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 are being a success. According to the Italian brand the flagship model presented at the Geneva Motor Show has already sold out for a whole year. Lamborghini is expecting a very positive year.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini underscores: “We confirmed our long term strategy, which calls for stable and significant investments in new products even in difficult times. We see a slow but steady recovery of the market, and we will benefit from this. The extraordinary response to the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is the best proof that our vision is right.”

Although the sales fell in 2010 to a total of 1,302, compared with the 1,515 units of 2009, due to the run out of the Lamborghini Murciélago in May 2010, the Italian brand is offering a strong lineup for 2011. The deliveries of the Aventador will start in the second half of 2011, while during the spring deliveries of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. The lineup from Lamborghini is completed by the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, the Gallardo LP 560-4 coupé, the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder and the Gallardo LP 550-2 coupé.

In 2010 Lamborghini had a full year turnover of 271 million euros, 10 million less than in 2009. Still, the Italian brand thinks that the new Aventador LP 700-4, Lamborghini supports its ambitions of a sustainable and profitable growth path in the future.

The USA remained as Lamborghini’s major market, while China rose as second largest. The company achieved historic results in the fastest growing economy in the world since it opened its first dealership in 2004. In 2010, 206 Lamborghinis were sold in China, a 150% growth over 2009.

In 2011 Automobili Lamborghini is expecting to increase its sales and improve its financial results.
