and Siemens, to launch Hubject GmbH, which will attempt to create a nationwide electric vehicle charging network in Europe. The company's slogan is “Charge wherever you like.”

The company's first product is called eRoaming, and it allows users to tap into the current European network of electric car chargers. Users register for the service, and they will be able to use any participating charger anywhere in Europe. They receive a bill each month. Users know if the charger is supported by the Hubject symbol on it.

Currently, Hubject has partners in Germany, Benelux and Austria offering compatible charging with eRoaming.

“It is our aim that users of electric vehicles can charge anywhere and easily. This joint initiative enables us to leave national and regional stand-alone solutions behind and to create a European network that connects the different charge point operators and is available to all users," said BMW Head of Development Dr. Herbert Diess who is also a shareholder in Hubject.
