modifications included as well. When the Classic Center received the car, it judged it as being in the lowest possible condition. The car basically had to be rebuilt from the ground up. It produces 170hp, about 70hp more than originally, and received a new five-speed transmission and stainless steel exhaust. The Classic Center added Alpina metal wheel arch flares, Alpina sports seats and Alpina wheels.

“To be able to get back behind the wheel of this car, which I owned in the 1970s and is now in perfect condition again, is just amazing. My wife managed to track down the model, which I was driving when I first met her, and gave it to me as a present,” said Hilti.

The Classic Center has begun offering remanufactured original parts to BMW enthusiast. It also now offers completely restored vehicles for sale. For current classic BMW owners, it also offers authentication certificates.

“We possess the theoretical knowledge regarding the vehicles, the technical know-how, the Original BMW parts and the requisite infrastructure to link it all up systematically,” said Classic Center Director Ralf Vierlein.
