BMW Museum Now Serving 400,000 Visitors a Year

BMW reopened its museum in June, 2008, after a massive renovation that modernized the entire building. Now BMW has 400,000 visitors a year though its museum.

BMW actually has an entire complex for visitors that includes its museum, the BMW Welt and the BMW Munich Factory.

The BMW Museum was originally built in 1973. It holds the history of BMW's cars, motorcycles and aircraft in a 5000m² space.

The BMW Welt is where BMW welcomes customers picking up their cars for European delivery and other visitors. It says that it has delivered up to 100 cars a day through European delivery. It uses BMW Welt for various exhibitions like the puzzle printed on the V12 LMR that it is showing now. It also uses the facility for press debuts of some models.

It is really a cultural part of Munich. The BMW Welt hosts occasional film screenings, theater, poetry readings and concerts.

The BMW Munich Plant completes 1000 3-series a day and 1000 engines a day. Plant tours are available for groups up to 30 people but must be scheduled in advance.
