and i8. Buyers will be able to get them directly from SOLARWATT, order the system when they buy their i3 or i8, or order the system online.

“This is the next step in the BMW i 360-degree package for customer-friendly electric mobility. With SOLARWATT, we are delighted to be working with a premium partner for customized solar solutions who will cater to our customers’ high standards of quality and style," said Marcus Krieg, head of BMW's 360° ELECTRIC program.

BMW already has other partnerships to provide various charging options through Naturstrom, Schneider Electric and The Mobility House.

BMW has already begun early production of the i3 at its factory in Leipzig, and mass production will begin later in the year. 

SOLARWATT was founded in 1993 and builds solar cells for private and commercial use in Dresden, Germany.
