BMW shows off new engines for BMW X1

BMW has not even finished rolling out the X1 across the world –the US and parts of Asia are still waiting, but it is already showing off new engines for the compact SUV. With the introduction of the new engines, there will now be three petrol and four diesel engines available in the X1.

The BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition uses a 2 liter, four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 163hp. More impressively the engine uses just 4.5l/100km and and produces 119g/km of CO2. The model also features start/stop technology to further improve fuel consumption.

That is not the only new engine that the X1 will be receiving. It is also releasing a new 2 liter, four-cylinder petrol engine. The twin-scroll turbo, direct engine and variable valve control means engine makes 184hp and uses 7.7l/100km. It will also move to 100km/h in 7.4 seconds. The model also has auto stop/start functionality.
