Group CEO, has been suspended by the board of Proton due to complaints about his conduct.
“As a result of a number of media inquiries, Group Lotus plc can today confirm that, following an operational review, chief executive Dany Bahar has been temporarily suspended from his role to facilitate an investigation into a complaint about his conduct made by Lotus’ penultimate parent company, DRB-HICOM Berhad,” said a statement from Group Lotus.
What exactly happened at Lotus Group is not yet clear. DRB Hicom, the recent buyers of Proton, suspended Bahar following an operational review of the company. Three DRB executives have been brought in to run the company.
According to DRB Hicom it will continue to support Lotus, and as of right now, it is "business as usual."
This story began earlier today a Malaysian blogger tweeted that Behar had been suspended by the Board of Directors at Proton, Lotus' parent company. That rumor was then repeated independently by an automotive journalist in Norfolf, England. Now the Norwich Evening News in England is reporting the story.
We have reached out to both Lotus and HRB-Hicom for further comment and are awaiting replies.
