Ferrari Charity Auction Ends Making €1.8M for Earthquake Relief

charity auction for Emilia-Romagna earthquake relief ended today at 4:00pm CET, and it was a complete success. It made over €1.8 million for charity by auctioning off unique racing items and even a Ferrari 599XX599XXFerrari 599XXItaly, 2009 > 20103 photos

For the time being, you can still view all of the winning bids at the Ferrari Store, but Ferrari has released some more details on the winning bidders. 

For example, the Ferrari 599XX had a starting bid of €1.35m, and it sold for €1.475m to an American buyer, according to Ferrari. The car included a plaque signed by Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

Formula 1 car had a starting bid of €15,000 and sold for €25,000 to a Malaysian buyer. 

The engine from the F2008F2008Ferrari F2008Italy, 2008 > 20084 photos
was sold to a buyer in Great Britain for €101,000. It had a starting bid of €50,000.

The Alonso helmet, gloves and shirt sold for €21,000, €6,000 and €3,000, respectively. 

The Massa helmet, gloves and shirt sold for €21,000, €2,000 and €1,000, respectively. 

The Giancarlo Fisichella sold for €10,000, and it had an opening bid of €2,500

Ferrari also received charitable donations from fans for earthquake relief not related to the auction.
