at the European Patent Register indicate the prancing horse is working on a new model, but it is not clear exactly what it is. The design is either a refresh of the Ferrari CaliforniaCaliforniaFerrari CaliforniaItaly, 2012 > present3 photos

.

The California seems like a more likely candidate because videos have indicated that Ferrari is working on a version of it with the new turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 being used by MaseratiMaseratiMaseratiItaly, 1914 > present62 models

with 523hp and 524lb-ft of torque. The vents in the hood and fenders would keep the turbos cool. It would represent a healthy power upgrade over the current California with its 4.3-liter V8 with 483hp and 369lb-ft (500Nm) of torque.

The top of the car has an obvious seem that would be for a removable top or possible convertible.

The big question is that the design also has elements of the FF like the lights and lower valence. The patent images show a flat undertray for better aerodynamics.

If any model is due for an update from Ferrari it is the California. It went on sale in early 2009 but received slightly more power in 2012.
