won the Green Car of the Year Award from the Green Car Journal for 2013, and it recieved the award at the LA Auto Show. 

The award goes to a car with all of its engine choices, so the entire Fusion range won not a single powertrain. Ford offers the Fusion with five powertrain options in the US: a naturally aspirated four-cylinder, two EcoBoost engine, the hybrid and Energi plug-in hybrid. 

"We are very honored that the all-new Ford Fusion has been recognized as the Green Car of the Year by the Green Car Journal," said David Mondragon, Ford general marketing manager.

The nominations are based on which cars have forwarded environmental performance in meaningful and quantifiable ways but also be accessible to buyers. The jury is comprised of representitives from major environmental organizations including the Sierra Club, Ocean Futures Society and Global Green USA. Jay Leno was also a juror.
