hybrid car sales have hit their highest rate in the US ever with 2013 sales meeting all of Ford's 2012 hybrid sales in just the first five months of the year. “We’re working tirelessly to get as many hybrids to the market as we can right now to meet this unprecedented customer demand for our electrified vehicles,” said Erich Merkle, Ford U.S. sales analyst.

The biggest buyers of its hybrids are people coming from other cars. For the Fusion Hybrid 67% of sales come from owners of other brands, and for the C-Max hybrid it is 63%. Most come from Toyota and HondaHondaJapan, 1948 > present102 models

“We’re hearing from our dealers they literally can’t keep our hybrids in stock. This is particularly evident in key markets like California," said C.J. O’Donnell, Ford electrification group marketing manager.
