Ford's European Sports Coupe Plans on Hold

to Europe, Ford worries that it is too big and has too low fuel economy to be a big seller. It had planned to offer a smaller, more fuel efficient sports coupe to compliment the Mustang, but these plans are already on hold from the top of Ford. 

Ford CEO Alan Mulally reportedly looked at the coupe proposal and decided that the sales were not available for such a specialty car in Europe. 

Europeans can still look forward to the next generation Mustang on the continent. If the market picks up, Mulally could still decide to build the smaller sports coupe.
