sedan and Focus Electric to next week's New York Auto Show. This launch follows the unveiling of the hatchback and station variants at last month's Genenva Motor Show.
The facelifted four-door follows its hatch siblings design and gets a new face dominated by the large trapezoidal grille, heavily inspired from the English sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, flanked by new headlights. The rear end has been updated with new light clusters and a restyled bootlid.
The new Focus sedan's engine option now features the small 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost from the Fiesta hatchback, with 123 horsepower and 197 Nm of torque. This engine is available only with the six-speed manual. New shock absorber valves, modified rear suspension and recalibrated electric power steering handle the 2015 Focus sedan more engaging driving dynamics.
For 2015, Focus adds an SE Sport Package, which includes new body treatments, paddle shifters (requires automatic transmission), a revised touring suspension, 17-inch black gloss aluminum wheels and P215/50 HR-17 tires.
Inside, colors and materials get satin chrome detailing, new seat trims and switches, and an available heated steering wheel. A new center console incorporating adjustable cupholders improves storage capacity.
The new Focus also gets as standard a rear view camera that works with a 4.2-inch display (or an 8-inch screen on models equipped with MyFord Touch), an updated Sync AppLink infotainment system, the MyKey safety feature and many other technologies that make life easier behind the wheel.
Ford also revealed that a new version of the performance Focus ST will be shown later this year.
