The electric super-saloon now gets a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP for all-round safety. The results show an impressive 82% for adult occupant protection and 77% for child occupant protection. It also achived 66% and 71% in pedestrian protection and active safety systems
The new 2-Series Active Tourer also scored a winner for BMW with another five star rating. An impressive 85% for child occupant protection confirms its strength as a family MPV and is up there with the safest rivals.
The new Škoda Fabia received the maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. The test results show the high-level safety of the new small car from Škoda. The new Fabia received the maximum five-star rating in all four areas (occupant protection for adults, child safety, safety assistance systems and pedestrian protection).
The new Nissan Pulsar was one of the latest cars to be tested by the EuroNCAP and to score five-stars. The new hatchback from Nissan achieved an 84% score for Adult Safety, 81% for Child Safety, 75% for Pedestrian Safety and 68% for Safety Assist.
After receiving a three-star Renault has decided to put the Megane up to a retest. The French brand managed to receive an extra star taking the total to four. It was originally given five stars, but the score was reduced to three when the safety tests became more stringent.
Suzuki's new Celerio was far from a top score, only achieving three stars. The sub-compact model lost out due to a lack of standard active safety tech and a poor scores in pedestrian safety. However it managed to get good scores for front and side barrier impact tests.
