will race in next year's Super Trofeo series and gets a 120% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency over the 2012 model and a 50% improvement in front brake cooling. It can now produce 128kg of downforce in the low-downforce set-up or 160g in the high-downforce setting. 

“We have taken a significant step forward with the aerodynamic performance of the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, but still the car stays true to our core principles. We believe that it is important to evolve the car, while ensuring Super Trofeo remains an attractive series in which to compete," said Maurizio Reggiani, head of Lamborghini Motorsport. 

Lamborghini sees the Super Trofeo series as a major success. It created the single-make racing series in 2009, and this year eight of the ten teams have set pole position in a race.

The series is expanding into Asia as well. This was the first year of the Asian Super Trofeo Series that had a six-race series. 

For 2013, Lamborghini plans to launch a North American Super Trofeo series. However, it has not alligned itself with a major series yet or decided on a calendar.
