Hamilton and Schumacher Fastest in F1 Practice

We will see if Hamilton can continue his strong performance for qualifying tomorrow

It looks like that new gearbox is quite a help to Lewis Hamilton. In the two rounds of Formula 1 practice today before the Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton was fastest in the first session and second fastest in the second session. Not to be outdone, Michael Schumacher has also put in a strong performance managing third fastest in the first session and overall fastest in the second session.

It appears that Mercedes has a good setup at least in practice. The other Mercedes-AMG driven by Nico Rosberg was second fastest in the first session and seventh fastest in the second session.

Series favorites Red Bull were sixth and seventh, Webber and Vettel, respectively, in the first session, and they were third and fourth, Vettel over Webber, in the second session.

It seems Romain Grosjean may have overstated the performance of the updated Lotus. He managed 17th in the first session and 15th in the second. His teammate Kimi Raikkonen was the absolute slowest car on track in 24th position in the first practice session and 13th in the second.
