Hybrid concept for the Lotus Evora at Geneva

Slideshow

A hybrid concept version of the Lotus Evora will be featuring at Lotus Enginering’s stand at the 80th Geneva Motor Show. The Evora 414E Hybrid concept combines high performance technology with a plug-in series hybrid drive system.

The Evora 414E Hybrid is powered by two electric motors located in each of the rear wheels, controlled through a single speed geartrain, with electrical power being stored in a 17 kWH lithium polymer battery pack. In order to have an extended range the hybrid concept is also equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine, designed specifically for series hybrid vehicles. The twin motors provide each 152 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque to each wheel, with the extender engine adding 35 kW of power at 3,500 rpm through an integrated electrical generator

The Evora hybrid concept can drive in all-electric mode for nearly 65 km, with zero tailpipes emissions.

The Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid maintains the versatile vehicle architecture used on the Lotus Evora, with the chassis remaining unchanged from the Evora and so maintaining the structural integrity and strength performance of the original car.

The 414E Hybrid features a simulated paddle shift gear change which enhances the driver interaction with the vehicle and offers a driving experience close to combustion engine high performance sports cars.
