Hyundai i20 Debuts as Lowest CO2 Conventional Car in Europe

Hyundai will debut its new i20 at the Geneva Motor Show tomorrow, but it has revealed all of the details about the ultra efficient B-segment hatchback already.

The i20 uses Hyundai's new 1.1 liter diesel engine that produces 75ps. More importantly, at least to Hyundai, is that it emits just 84g/km of CO2, which will make it the cleanest purely internal combustion car in Europe when it goes on sale. The i20 will also be available with a 1.4 liter diesel that produces 90ps and emits 96g/km of CO2.

In terms of styling, the new i20 adapts the nose of the i30 onto a smaller vehicle. The car has exactly the same footprint as the previous i20 but length is up 55mm to 3.995m.
