Hyundai unveils ix25 concept in China

unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show a new SUV concept, the ix25ix25Hyundai ix25Republic of Korea, 2014 > present. This vehicle will be the basis of a new model that will be launched in the Chinese market this year.

The new ix25 will initially be launched in China, taking advantage of the increasing popularity of compact SUVs in that market. However, Hyundai should expand the model to other world markets as the demand model in China decreases.

In terms of design, the ix25 is a smaller version of the ix35ix35Hyundai ix35Republic of Korea, 2009 > present56 versions

, with a distinctive grille with wraparound headlights and a lateral line that tapers toward the rear windows.

The new model is based on the same platform as the Kia SoulSoul Gen.2Kia Soul Gen.2Republic of Korea, 2013 > present10 versions

and is a result of the joint venture Beijing-Hyundai. Production of the ix25 will take place in China and the beginning of sales of the model is scheduled for the summer.

and was equipped with a gasoline engine of 2.0 liters. However, the production version for the Chinese market should be marketed with petrol engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters.

Should it be sold in other markets with greater use of diesel such as the European, Hyundai will certainly introduce a diesel engine version, which should also help its spread.
