The Niro is quite a tiny crossover

has finally revealed its Frankfurt Motor Show concept. The concept that was unnamed until now, goes by the name Niro, and it shows Kia’s concept of a next generation B-segment crossover for city car drivers.

The Niro is a tiny, two-door crossover with forward-hinged doors and Kia’s corporate face. It has chunky styling that makes it look off-road-ready, but most buyers will likely only see it get a little muddy, as it is meant for urban dwellers. The concept is painted in high gloss black with stainless steel trim.

The interior is quite sparse with seats that appear to come from a single mold and as few buttons as possible.

When it is shown on September 10, Kia says that the Niro will use a brand new powertrain, but it has not hinted at what this means.

The Niro was designed at Kia’s European Design Center in Frankfurt and is meant as a European-oriented model.

The car comes from Kia’s desire to grab more of the compact car market share in Europe by having vehicles with better styling and at the right size. It says that customer reactions in Frankfurt will decide whether it is made.
