will share an aluminum space frame, and the Lamborghini will be unveiled first, possibly as soon as the end of the month. The new entry-level Lamborghini is rumored to be called the Huracan, the Spanish word for hurricane. The car had previously been codenamed the Cabrera.

Like the Gallardo, it will be powered by a V10 engine, likely a tweaked version of the current 5.2-liter V10. Either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be offered.
The new aluminum space frame allows the Gallardo and R8 to have different dimensions but still share many components to keep production prices down. Production of both cars will begin in 2014, but the R8 may not officially go on sale until early 2015 to keep from stepping on the Huracan’s toes.
