Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv Diesel for Europe Uses 4.6l/100km

The cleanest version of Mazda's new CX-5 Skyactiv diesel in Europe uses just 4.6l/100km from a 2.2 liter engine that produces 150ps. Even the dirtiest version with a 175ps version of the 2.2 liter diesel and six-speed automatic with all-wheel drive uses 5.5l/100km.

Mazda's Skyactiv technology is a holistic approach to make cars cleaner. It combines higher compression engines, more efficient transmissions and lighter components to give its cars an overall boost in efficiency. It also uses start/stop technology and regenerative braking.

In the new CX-5 SUV that means the cleanest model produces 119g/km of CO2 when equipped with a 2.2 liter diesel with front-wheel drive, six-speed manual and 150ps.

Mazda's goal is to improve its fuel economy by 30% by 2015 compared to its 2008 models.
