version of wagon with either 525hp and 700Nm of torque or 557hp and 800Nm of torque.

This massive power output comes come Mercedes' 5.5 liter biturbo V8. That standard engine has 525hp, but like the introduction of all of its recent AMG models, there will also be the Edition 1Mercedes-Benz CLS Shootin...Germany, 2012 > present8 photos
version with 557hp and an improved interior. Regardless of version, it will come with the AMG Speedshift MCT 7 dual-clutch transmission. The transmission offers C, which is an eco mode, Sport, Sport+ and Manual modes; plus it has a Race Start launch control feature. 

The suspension is a retuned version found on the regular CLS. That means conventional springs and struts up front with an air suspension in the rear. AMG has retuned the setup to make the ride sportier. One other upgrade for the AMG is that the front axle is 56mm wider than the conventional car to give better handling. 

Inside, the AMG version gets a special detail called the AMG Drive Unit that will allows the driver to select the transmission, suspension and traction control modes from the infotainment screen. Like the standard car, the wooden, rear load floor made from American Cherry wood is optionally available

Like every Mercedes, there will be a massive list of options improving both comfort and performance. Carbon ceramic brakes, a variety of AMG wheels, exterior carbon fiber, rear differential lock, illuminated doorsills and 1200w stereo will all be available options. 

The Edition 1 model will only be available for the first year. In addition to the more powerful engine, buyers get Allante Grey paint that is exclusive to this car, platinum white leather, sports seats, carbon fiber trim, microfiber headliner and velour floor mats. 

Mercedes is still not announcing prices for any of the CLS engines. The CLS, including the AMG, will not go on sale until October 2012.
