models. The German brand cars will debut at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. The first images and information were revealed in anticipation of the event.
The two vehicles will hit the market next September, with minor changes. Mercedes significantly increased customization options, including the latest Multibeam LED headlamps and new AMG Line Plus and Night Packages.
In terms of design, changes were minor. Among them are a bumper with a larger frame and larger air intakes, a slightly retouched grille and LED headlights as standard for the low and high-beam as well as daytime running lights.
Inside the changes were not substantial as well and include a new 8cm wide screen, a newly designed three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and simplified functionality and controls in the center console.
Mercedes-Benz also updated the range of engines available for both models and, like other models of the brand, they now meet the EU6 emissions standards. One of the new features is the newcomer CLS 220 BlueTecMercedes-Benz CLS 220 Blu...Germany, 2014 > present, the new entry-level version equipped with a common rail turbo diesel engine 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine with 175hp and 400Nm of torque. Like other new models Mercedes-Benz has installed on the CLS the latest security technologies. The models receive the Collision Prevention Assist Plus system that activates brakes when a collision is predicted.
Among the long list of options are the new Multibeam LED headlights. These lights use a stereo camera installed inside the windscreen that detects oncoming traffic and automatically adjusts 24 individual LED projectors so as not to dazzle other drivers.
