has released the first sketches of the first new car to carry the DatsunDatsunJapan, 1931 > 198636 models

name. The car will be publicly revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The company launched its website www.datsun.com on July 1.

The sketches that Nissan released show a five-door hatch with a hexagonal grill and angular styling. It bears a slight resemblance to the new MicraNissan Micra Gen.4Japan, 2010 > 201645 versions

but with a completely different frontend.

The new Datsun will first go on sale in India in 2014 about two years after Nissan first announced that it would bring the brand back as a nameplate for emerging markets. After India, the Datsun brand will launch in Indonesia, Russia and South Africa in 2014.

Each of the new Datsuns will be retuned for each market but use common platforms.

“Datsun will bring competitive products and services, modern and aspirational, while at the same time reassuring, providing superior value and specifically developed for the emerging and ambitious new Middle Class in high-growth markets. The Datsun cars will be locally developed with the support of Nissan Motor Company engineers and stylists and will be locally produced", said Vincent Cobee, Head of Datsun.
