Offering a whole new revised range of engines, the new BMW X5 has suffered some changes in its overall look and brings innovative driver assistance systems. It will be presented in next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
In terms of design the lower front fascia has suffered some changes such as the larger outboard air intakes inspired by the X5 M. As for the rear bumper it has been re-sculpted and both ends get more of their bodywork painted. The new X5 also receives new headlamps and L-shaped, redesigned taillights, each with two homogeneously illuminated LED light banks.
The renewed X5 will be available in two petrol and two diesel versions - BMW X5 xDrive50i, BMW X5 xDrive35i, BMW X5 xDrive40d and BMW X5 xDrive30d. These new versions achieve the optimum ratio between performance and fuel consumption thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics. With an output of 300 kW/407 bhp the new top-of-the-range model is the BMW X5 xDrive50i, with the V8 power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo and direct petrol injection (High Precision Injection).
All of the new BMW X5 versions are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. It combines shifting dynamics, optimised effectiveness and the highest degree of comfort. The eight-speed automatic transmission also contributes for the improved road performance and efficiency.
