Opel Ampera Has Been Sold to 2000 Vehicle Fleets this Year

through October of this year. While impressive by itself, in March Opel had had just 700 fleet customers. That is a 180% increase in the last six months. In Germany, fleet customers are up 50% and up 200% in the Netherlands. 

Opel says that the increase in fleet purchases are partially due to the Ampera being included in more companies' company car policies because they are attracted to their low fuel consumption

 “We are confident that this development will continue because fleet customers understand that the Ampera is one of the very few electric vehicles that is truly suitable for everyday use. Additionally, it is has significantly lower operating costs than equivalent internal combustion engine cars," said Alfred Rieck, Opel vice president of sales.

The Ampera has an electric range between 40km and 80km depending on the driver but with a total range of 500km.
