to 10,000 units a month to meet demand for the compact SUV in Europe. It will involve a second shift of workers building the car. The 2008 is built at Peugeot's Mulhouse factory.

"We have 16,000 orders, mostly coming from dealerships where the 2008 wasn't even presented," said Peugeot brand head Maxime Picat.

So far this year, the Juke leads the segment with 38,383 cars sold, and the Opel MokkaOpel Mokka Gen.1Germany, 2012 > present55 versions

The 2008 will enter production in South America and China soon.
