Prince of Monaco Auctioning 38 Cars from Family Collection on July 26

Slideshow
The collection is made up of mostly affordable people's cars

Monaco has been known as one of the greatest place in the world to view beautiful, expensive cars for decades. Prince Albert of Monaco is known as quite the car collector himself, and so was his father. Apparently, the Prince is looking to make room in his collection because tomorrow, on July 26, he will be auctioning off 38 cars from his family's collection at the Terrasses de Fontvieille in Monaco. Many of the car were originally purchased by Prince Rainier, and after his death there were passed on to Prince Albert.

The cars included are a weird mish-mash made up mostly of early people's cars and military vehicles. There are also a few imported American cars included on the listing. Some of the cars include a 1971 Abarth-tuned Fiat 500500Fiat 500Italy, 1957 > present15 versions

imported by General Motors of Belgium. Neither one of these cars is a performance icon, and it is interesting to think what possessed Prince Rainier to buy them in the first place.

The one nice thing about this auction is that the cars appear to have been well taken care of, and their overall prices are rather inexpensive. A 1913 PanhardPanhardPanhardFrance, 1887 > 19688 models
