for sports cars and this new premium brand, possibly called Initiale Paris, for luxury cars. The new brand would exude French, premium luxury and be marketed heavily to China.

The decision for the new brand is not finished yet. Obviously, the European market is incredibly volatile at the moment, and according to the newspaper, Renault is waiting until the end of the year to make a final decision.

Theoretically, Renault could borrow platforms and engines from its partner at Infiniti but create its own unique style and interiors for the cars.

Unless the European market strengthens considerably over the rest of the year do not count on seeing the brand. Launching one new brand would be hard enough, but creating Alpine and this premium brand would be difficult for even a healthy automaker. We will keep our ear to the ground and wait and see.
