has been negotiating with its unions since November 6 to try to reduce the company's capacity. The company currently has ten factories in France but is negotiating with its unions to reduce that to seven.

Renault's plans are to reorganize its factories into two regional locations. The West center would be the Vallée de Seine, Choisy-le-Roi and Le Mans factories. The Northeast center would be the Douai, STA, MCA and SOVAB factories. Three remaining factories would be closed. The two centers would also consolidate back-office activities and support services like human resources, purchasing, accounting and logistics.

Renault says that reorganizing and consolidating the factories would lead to a better organized staff and increase factory performance.

The next scheduled meeting between Renault and the unions is on Thursday November 29.
