ended production in 2006, but it is getting back into the business with a still-unnamed electric supercar due to be shown in early 2014.
"We recognize that electric cars are a trend, not a fad, and expect this vehicle category to continue to increase as an automotive option for consumers,” said founder Steve Saleen.
He wants the car to be truly innovative as an electric supercar but is not giving any details about the car yet. The intention is for the new car to go into full production.

was built through 2006. The original cars used a modified Ford 7.0-liter V8 with 550hp. In 2005, it added the S7 Twin Turbo with a twin-turbocharged version of the same engine with 750hp.

had a much longer life as a racecar. It made its racing debut in the American Le Mans in 2000, and in 2001 it was raced in several racing series in the US and Europe. In 2001, it took a class win in the 12 Hours of Sebring and was third in the GTS class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The final racecar chassis was completed in 2010 and scored a GT1 class victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
