on sale in Europe. It also invested €200 million to upgrade the factory that the Smart is built in. The Fortwo Electric Drive is available as either a coupe or cabrio.

The car uses a 55kW (74hp) electric motor that accelerates the Smart to 60km/h in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 125km/h. It is mated to a 17.6kWh battery pack with a claimed 145km range in city traffic. 

There are two options in regards to purchasing the Fortwo Electric Drive. The first options is sale&care that lets you buy the Fortwo Electric Drive for €18,910 for the coupe or €22,000 for the cabrio. With the sale&care plan the buyer leases the battery for €65 a month. The other option is to buy the complete car with the battery. It costs €23,680 all inclusive with the battery for the coupe or €26,770 for the cabrio. 

The electric Fortwo will go on sale in Germany later this summer and roll out across Europe for the rest of the year.
