Steve Jobs was working until the end. Current J. Crew CEO and Apple board member Mickey Drexler says that Jobs was sketching ideas for better medical equipment even while laying in a hospital bed. His real dream was to eventually build an iCar.
"Look at the car industry; it's a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars? Steve's dream before he died was to design an iCar, and it would've been probably 50% of the market. He never did design it." said Drexler.
Feel free to disagree with any part of that statement, but it is interesting to consider what an iCar would have been.

feel like cars that Steve Jobs might design. The Karma is a range-extended electric vehicle with beautiful styling. The Model S is a purely electric vehicle that is meant to take on the Karma.

. It is a city car with an electric motor and optional range extender. In the case of the i3, it will cost more than most city cars, but it will not be totally out of the range of average buyers.
The cynic would say that it would be like any Apple product: it would stop supporting it after 5 years to force you to buy a new one, and it would cost 20% more than a standard car.
