. The top-spec Vsport with the new twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 with 420hp will set you back $60,920 after destination to start and that is with no options.

Buyers get a lot for the extra money. The new CTS is larger, offers more engine options and new cutting-edge technology. The new car is 5in (12.7cm) longer and 244lb (110.7kg) lighter than the previous generation. All cars come with Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension and CUE infotainment system with HD radio, three USB ports and a SD card port as standard features.

It will be offered with three trim packages - Luxury, Performance and Premium - and with three engines - the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 272hp, carried over 3.6-liter V6 and new twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6. There area also either rear - or all-wheel drive powertrains.

The new turbocharged four-cylinder will get the third-gen CTS to 60mph in 6.1 seconds, which is 1.5 seconds faster than the 3.6-liter V6 in the previous generation.

Enthusiasts will be most interested in the new Vsport model that comes with the 420hp twin-turbo V6. It comes with a more aggressively tuned magnetic suspension, more direct throttle response and electronic limited-slip differential. The Vsport cars come only with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive

“CTS has always been Cadillac’s centerpiece, and as our brand expands and elevates the car properly grows to its true place,” said David Leone, CTS executive chief engineer.
