winning their fourth consecutive World Drivers' and Constructors' World Championships or Romain Grosjean finishing in third after starting in 17th place. Both of them are massive feats of motorsport.
Vettel had a fantastic start and rocketed ahead in the lead. Felipe Massa had a fantastic start to go from fifth to second on the first lap, but Vettel had a 2-second lead on him by the end of the first lap. The MercedesMercedes-BenzGermany, 1924 > present197 models

cars held third and fourth. There was some slight contact between Esteban Gutierrez and Romain Grosjean and later between Kimi Raikkonen and Mark Webber, but all of them were able to stay out.
Vettel pitted on lap three to get off of his soft tires and switch to mediums and rejoined in 17th. It also handed the lead to Massa. Vettel moved up the ranks quickly and took a car or two nearly every lap. By lap 8, he was already in tenth.
Massa kept up the lead in the front, but the top six cars were only separated by two seconds with the Mercedes directly behind him. Massa pulled in for medium tires on lap nine. He rejoined in eighth, but Vettel was already up to sixth and continued to gain position.
Many of the other drivers began coming in around lap 10 as well, and by the time things were finished around lap 16, Webber was leading; Perez was in second, and Vettel was closing on them both in third. Webber had qualified on medium tires and was still on his original set. Vettel took second on lap 22. Vettel briefly took the lead when Webber pitted, but lost it when he pitted on lap 32. It handed the lead back to Webber. But Webber only switched to soft tires because he had to and pitted again for mediums on lap 33. Vettel led again.
Webber suffered from an alternator and gearbox problem on lap 40 similar to what happened to him in Singapore. He had been running in second and hands the position over to Raikkonen. In order to win the constructors' championship now, Vettel has to win.
With Vettel over 20 seconds in the lead, the fight moved to Raikkonen and Rosberg in second and third respectively. Raikkonen had a six-second lead but was still on medium tires and would have to stop before the end. They swapped places because of Raikkonen's failing tires.
With four laps to go, Romain Grosjean was challenging his teammate Raikkonen for third place. Keep in mind, Grosjean qualified 17th on medium tires. The team came on and requested that Raikkonen pull over for Grosjean. With two laps to go, Raikkonen continued to move down the ranks to seventh. Sergio Perez and Hamilton both passed him on lap 59. Raikkonen pitted with one lap to go. His tires were cooked.
Vettel clinched his fourth consecutive World Drivers' Championship with 322 points. Alonso scored no points, but his second-place is still secure with 207 points. Raikkonen remains in third place with 183 points. Grosjean overtakes Massa in the standings, but the two of them are tied with 102 points. Perez moves up to 12th place over Adrian Sutil.
Red Bull also won the World Constructors' Championship with 470 points. Mercedes moves up to second place over FerrariFerrariItaly, 1947 > present233 models
