Volkswagen will release the five-door Up on March 6 in Germany and roll it out over the rest of Europe over the rest of the spring. The five-door carries a €475 premium over the three-door Up. Prices in Germany start at €10,325
The two extra doors slightly change the look up the Up. The rear windows go straight across the car to the C-pillar on the five-door model, where on the three-door, they angle up to the C-pillar. Cargo space is the same as before with 251 liters of capacity or 951l with the seats down.
Mechanically, the five-door car is identical to the three-door version. It comes with either a 60ps or 70ps engine and has the same trim levels: take up, move up, high up, black up and white up. It is available with the optional City Emergency Braking system that stops the vehicle automatically if it detects a collision under 30km/h. There is also an optional, removable navigation system.
