According to Kia Europe boss Michael Cole, company president and design chief Peter Schreyer wants to build the rear-wheel drive GT. However, the compact crossover segment is significantly more popular right now, and it could be built off of the RioKia Rio Gen.3Republic of Korea, 2012 > present80 versions

The question is whether the boss will win out with the rear-wheel drive GT against the relative cheapness of developing the Provo off of an existing platform.

"We're looking at everything as to what future product holds," said Cole.
