With 6499mm in length and a wheelbase of 4481mm, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman will keep the ingredients that made him famous, including driving with a chauffeur and two rows of rear seats facing each other. Mercedes describes the cabin of the new Pullman as a lounge that offers the ultimate luxury experience and exclusivity.
Confirmed on the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is already the 530hp V12 engine, with a maximum torque of 830Nm. The new Pullman is the second version released through the new luxury Maybach division, after the Mercedes-Maybach S600, unveiled at the Gangzhou and Los Angeles Motor Show.
Launched in the 60's, the Pullman 600 was also known by the nickname of "Dictator's Ship" for having been the vehicle of choice of authoritarian political leaders as Idi Amin, Nicolae Ceaucescu and General Tito, among others. But the fact that it was in production for more than 20 years was also due to the long list of personalities who chose it as transport, where Hugh Hefner, Coco Chanel, John Lennon, George Harrison, Jack Nicholson and Jay Leno names were included.
With the first deliveries scheduled to early 2016, the standard versions of the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman (unshielded) will cost about half a million euros.
