With the MiEV Evolution III Mitsubishi hopes to improve the ranking from last year in the electric category, with the second and third places grabbed with the MiEV Evolution II.
This year Mitsubishi made some further modifications to the vehicle, comparing with the MiEV Evolution II. Changes include a lighter chassis and thanks to the redesigned Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control System it will be able to offer a better driving and traction. Furthermore, the Japanese brand has installed a more aerodynamic bodywork and an even more powerful version of the electric motors, with 603hp, 67hp more than last year.
Former Dakar champion Hiroshi Masuoka and former Pikes Peak champion, Greg Tracy, will once again be behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution.
Pikes Peak is the second oldest motorsport event in America and is organized since 1916. Along 20km, riders will face 156 curves climbing up to the top until one of the drivers is named "king of the mountain".
Last year Sebastien Loeb was the big winner of the Pikes Peak with the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak. The Frenchman also reached a new circuit record with 8min13.878s.
