Infiniti will be presenting for the first time in Europe its new generation of the M Line. At the Geneva Motor Show Nissan’s luxury brand will make the premiere of a car that was designed and engineered thinking in the European market and drivers.
Based on last year’s Essence concept sports coupe – also presented in Geneva – the new M Line has classic sports saloon proportions and can be powered by petrol or diesel engines. A hybrid powertrain should join the M Line range in 2011.
At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show Infiniti will be showing an M37 S, a version that is more focused in driving experience, as it comes equipped with Infiniti’s four-wheel active steering (4WAS) system.
All the European M models will be equipped with V6 engines with 320 PS (235 KW) from the 3.7-litre petrol unit, and 238 PS (175 KW) from the new piezo-injection 3.0-litre diesel engine. With the M30d Infiniti produces its first diesel engine, specially designed for the European market. The M Line cars, petrol and diesel, will feature as standard Infiniti’s 7-speed Adaptive Shift Control automatic transmission.
Technology also makes part of the new features of Infiniti’s luxury sedan, which include Active Noise Control, a world-first side collision avoidance system and state-of-the-art “Forest Air™” climate control. The M Line will also be equipped with a smart accelerator pedal that helps drivers to save fuel.
The new M Line is the first M to be available in all of Infiniti’s 34 world markets. In Europe the new Infiniti luxury saloon will be on sale from September.
