and that should get coupe and convertible versions. The new model hits the market in September.
In terms of design the new C-Class Estate is quite similar to the sedan, but all-new from the B-pillar to the back. The model is 4702mm long, 96mm longer than the previous generation, and 80mm longer wheelbase, with 2840mm.
Who benefits more from the increased dimensions of the vehicle are the rear passengers who get more legroom, more sholder room thanks to the increased width of the vehicle (over 40mm) and a reorganized cabin. The load capacity also increased slightly to a total of 1510l with folded rear seats.
The original range of the C-Class Estate will include a four-cylinder 2.0-liter petrol C200 version with 180hp and a four-cylinder turbodiesel 2.1-liter in the 170hp C220 BlueTEC and the 240hp C250 BlueTEC. Next year Mercedes will be launching new options, including hybrid and six-cylinder engine versions. An AMG version is also in the pipeline. The model can also be ordered with the all-wheel drive technology 4MATIC.
Regarding the interior, the new C-Class Estate is identical to the sedan variant, including the ability to switch between five driving modes, Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. In addition to a variable steering configuration, called Direct Steer, fitted as standard, the C-Class Estate can be equipped with various advanced assistance technologies that are part of the S-Class range.
One of the novelties of the C-Class Estate is the premiere of the Mercedes Connect Me system, establishing a link between the driver and a SIM card installed in the car. With this technology the driver can remotely view the fuel level in the car or to pre-program the heating system of the vehicle. This is a technology that will be implemented in the remaining Mercedes range.
