that is meant to blend that styling with a vehicle more friendly for novice drivers. The SR1 shares a design team with the LMP2 car, but the SR1 uses a 1340cc Suzuki engine with 210hp and a 10,500 redline.

The SR1 is meant for track days and club racers. It is a track-only car, unlike some of Radical's offerings. The company is really aiming it at buyers who want to take the first step into dedicated sports car racing but do not feel comfortable taking on something with too much speed or too much power. While it offers 210hp, the top speed is 138mph.

That is not to say that the SR1 is soft. It is capable of pulling 2.3 lateral g and 1.8g during braking. Radical emphasized simplicity with the SR1 by offering a single package for the car. The engine is linked to the rear via a chain drive and uses a six-speed sequential gearbox and Quaife limited-slip differential.

The performance for the SR1 beats cars that cost twice as much. It accelerates to 60mph in 3.6 seconds and will go from 50-100mph in 6.1 seconds. This is mostly due to the car having a curb weight of 490kg. The wing and suspension are both fully adjustable.

The SR1 has two seats that will allow a driver and instructor to be in the car at the same time. Both occupants are protected with a safety cell that meets the FIA crash standard and an integral fire extinguisher.

The SR1 is available for order now for £29,850.
