will introduce the Clio R.S. R3T as its new customer rally car in the second half of 2014, and it was be unveiled at the Rallye du Var, the last round of the 2013 Renault Sport Rally Trophy, that ran from November 21 to 24.

The Clio R.S. R3T is based on the Clio R.S. 200 EDC and uses its turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The rally version gets a six-speed sequential manual transmission with optional steering wheel-mounted paddles.

“With the Clio R.S. R3T, our aim has been to come up with a high-performance, reliable vehicle adaptable to every type of surface, all for an operating cost below that of the product it replaces,” said Renault Sport Technologies Motorsports Director Arnaud Boulanger.

The R3T offers the performance of a Super 1600 rally car at about half the cost. The car complies completely with FIA R3 class regulations and will have a one-make rally series in the Renault Sport Rally Trophy as well.
