has a new GT4-class customer race car in the M235i Racing that will be available to buyers in 2014 for €59,500, plus local VAT. BMW is especially marketing the M235i Racing to buyers that will take it to the Nürburgring for the VLN racing series and Nürburgring 24 Hours.

. It is intended for club level and regional racing around the world.

The biggest change to the car over the standard 2 Series is the massively flared front and rear fenders. The car is almost unrecognizable as a 2 Series, but it makes it look incredibly aggressive and ready to race. The front spoiler, rear spoiler, rear diffusor and mirrors are all made from carbon fiber. It uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that has been tuned by M Performance to produce 329hp (333ps). M Performance also retuned the ABS, stability control and traction control systems for a racing environment. It comes standard with a mechanical limited-slip differential. The interior has an FIA-certified safety cell and racing fuel tank.

“The production models from the BMW M Performance Automobiles range are already incredibly sporty. Because of this, we did not have to make many modifications in order to get the BMW M235i Coupé up and running as a racing car. BMW Motorsport can look back on a long tradition of allowing ambitious teams and drivers an affordable way into motor racing,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
