The second generation of the 308 was launched in 2013.
The 308 is aimed squarely at the European C-segment market that makes up about 33% of European auto sales. The car uses Peugeot’s new Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) that allows it to cut 140kg from the current car and ride on an extended wheelbase.
The looks of the car have been altered but not significantly. The longer wheelbase means shorter overhangs in the front and rear. It gets a two-piece grill with a wider lower section, rather than the current one piece. The front of the car is also blunter than the current generation. Otherwise, the car is relatively simple with slab sides and large windows. The 308 is probably not going to win any competitions for its looks, but it gives the car extra interior room with the same length as the previous car.
